Pikom PC fair 2009

Hello there! I am back from a few days absence. I have have been working almost 24/7 this week. 4 days in the office where I am interning and 3 days at PC fair during the weekend. JEN said, I am turning into a workaholic? But I say this is worst, I am becoming a lifeless freak where my daily routines only involves eat, sleep and work, how interesting is that huh.

Well I had a great weekend though,despite the painful feet and minimal sleep. Working as a promoter this time requires way more than what I need to do when I was a flyer girl previously. My job last time was just to look pretty and give out flyers, sales of the product was never my concern. Furthermore, my pay does not depends on the sales, why care? This time I had to work like a horse to push sales! This is not an easy task as firstly I am not an IT person and secondly the products aren’t exactly affordable. Here is what I am selling.

Yes, its a US brand called ALIENWARE, currently under DELL. Honestly I have never heard of this brand until the day of the interview. Alright let me enlighten you guys with some of the information I have now.

1. It’s THE top gaming PC in the world, specially made for GAMERS.
2. High specifications, thus high performance.
3. It’s available for customization, therefore tailored made for users.
4. It’s a GAMER’s dream for those who could afford.
5. Currently the 15x comes with the latests i7 processor (Most powerful processor in the market now)
6. It’s price is an advantage compared to Asus and Mac

So, my job is to promote and sell as many of these imba laptops and desktops as possible.The basic price ranges from 6 to 12k which practically puts my task at a no win situation. As far as I am concern, PC fair is all about cheap stuff and good bargains, are people willing to cough out this price for a laptop? However I was wrong, people’s desire to own the best always triumph over gold. The response for this product was better than expected. The whole team of manage to sell a total of 34 units in 3 days, its an achievement alright! Overall I am pretty satisfied with this job albeit persuading people quite an ass sometimes but this was good experience and knowledge. And my colleagues, they are awesome people!
